SKID ROW

After spending what he believed to be too long a period of time, away from the concert stage, Skid Row's lead singer and all around wild man, Sebastian Bach became fed up with his fellow band mates attitude and embarked on his own solo tour.
At one time, Skid Row was one of the most popular rock groups in America.
Today, they've almost completely dissappeared from the national touring scene since their last tour in 1995.
"The other guys in Skid Row are busy doing other things,"he said. "I have not seen any of the other members of Skid Row since August 1996. So, I've been sitting at home for months on end, clicking the remote control."
Why? From the sounds of Bachs comments when asked about what other members of Skid Row,he just isn't getting along with the guys in the band anymore.
"I've grown tiered of the corporate strategies that these guys and the record company have been telling me,"Bach said. "I just want to get on the stage and sing some rock music. That's why I'm doing this tour without the other members of Skid Row. I just want to get up on-stage now and sing. I'm really tiered of waiting around for them to do something."
Bach has formed his own touring band with Richie Scarlet(guitar), Jimmy Flemion(guitar), Mark McConnel(drums), Mario(bass) and Larry on drums. The group, which is billed as "Sebastian Bach's Skid Row, is currently on tou.
While Bach was initially told he'd be nuts to take his own band out as a solo perfomer, the 29 year old singer is pleased that he didn't listen to his detractors.
"It's like,'Hey,I can do this!',"Bach said with a laugh. "I've been told by certain people who are record company and management types, that I can't sing because of various reasons. Which is absurd. I mean I've put this current tour together, we're playing 15 cities in 7 days, and it's simply amazing how many fans are coming out to see this show! I've been sobbing on-stage some nights because I'm getting emotional seeing how well we're doing with the audience. The ticket sales are through the roof. The clubs are either selling out or at 90 per cent capacity. This is unbelievable."
Bach, once one of rock's top teenybopper heartthrobs, is noticing on his current tour, that many of his female fans haven't forgotten him.
"There's all these girls who were like 12 years old back in 1989,"he said, "when we first came out nationally. And now they're 19 and 20, and they're looking good!(he laughs) They've been coming out to the shows and telling me that they had a pinup poster of me on their bedroom wall like eight years ago. So, I'm getting this wonderful response from fans who have been following our music for all this time now."
Even though Bach is seeing a positive response with his current tour, he has decided the time is right to move onto other musical projects outside of Skid Row.
Bach has a single currently on the "Scream" soundtrack, which he recorded with Breeders guitarist Kelley Deal. In addition, a new rock band with Bach on lead vocals is in the works with a tentative album release scheduled for the beginning of 1998.
"We're called The Last Hard Men," Bach said,"and we're going to have an album out sometime in January. We're playing two new songs in our concert set and those two songs are also avaliable on my website."
According to Bach, the MTV cable channel, once huge supporters of Skid Row, have recently taped a special in which Bach is featured.
"Our kind of rock music is coming back again on MTV,"Bach said. "MTV plays an extremely large part in this business and they've gradually been coming around to playing our style of music. You know, I think right now on this tour, I'm the happiest I've been in years. It feels so great to just get on-stage and sing some rock music once again. It's like Frank Zappa said,'Shut up and play your guitar.' I've had it with all the other corporate stuff. I just want to get on that stage and sing."
